Your Real Champion®: “The Promise of a Lifetime” Dr. Marianne T. Ritchie
Tom Flannery just celebrated his 99th birthday on December 18. Despite World War II combat experience and capture during a pivotal battle at Anzio in Italy, a year as a Prisoner of War with the Germans, and a Purple Heart, he believes the real heroes of the war were the guys who didn’t make it home. He made a promise that if God let him return from the war, that he would attend mass every day… and for 78 years he has kept that promise.
Each week, we highlight the Real Champions in your life! Your family, friends, or colleagues who go the extra mile to help others in their community.
Marianne T. Ritchie, MD was one of the first female gastroenterologists practicing in the Philadelphia area. An advocate for over 30 years, Dr. Ritchie developed the PINK PLUS triple cancer screening program, and the BLUE LIGHTS CAMPAIGN for Colon Cancer Awareness.
