Jim McBride has always loved to swim, even does ocean swims in several Jersey beach towns. One day he finished an easy 40 laps at the Springfield YMCA and then went to relax in the men’s hot tub. Minutes later, a 16 year-old lifeguard found him unresponsive and administered CPR. His fellow 16 year-old guard applied the defibrillator. Their combined efforts brought Jim back from a cardiac arrest. After his recovery, Jim became a certified lifeguard to save the lives of others!
