Your Real Champion® – Danny and Suann Maier: Special People in Special Olympics
Special Olympics offers programs in sports, health, education and community building to “tackle the inactivity, stigma, isolation, and injustice that people with intellectual disabilities face” providing an inclusive environment which brings people with and without intellectual disabilities to share in the joy of sports. Danny is a gold medal athlete and his mother Suann is a coach – together they are the dynamic duo who see Special Olympics as a tremendous gift with people who make up a loving and supportive family.
