Dr. Marianne T. Ritchie September 26, 2022 32
On Wednesday, October 12, Dr. Marianne T. Ritchie will be speaking at the Society of Professional Women’s Lunch and Share program. As one of the first women to practice gastroenterology in the Philadelphia region, Dr. Ritchie is a strong advocate for women’s health care and shares the message that your preventive cancer care is “more than just a mammogram.” Dr. Ritchie dispels the myth that colorectal cancer is a man’s disease. In her lecture, she will talk about risk factors and life-saving information about screening for all of the most common women’s cancers.
As part of the program, Dr. Ritchie will be joined by Dr. Erin O-Malley Tysko, cardiologist at the Lankenau Heart Institute and her patient, Penny Bivens to talk about Penny’s heart journey and ignoring the unique signs of heart disease. Year after year, heart disease remains the leading killer of both men and women; yet many women are still unfamiliar with the risks and symptoms of the disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of women over the age of 25 in the United States, regardless of race or ethnicity, causing more deaths than all types of cancer combined.
You do not need to be a member of the Society of Professional Women to register! Register for the event today here.
