On Sunday, October 31, 2021, our host Dr. Marianne Ritchie was joined by Elena Wellens, DPM from Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and Assistant Professor, Temple School of Podiatric Medicine for a discussion about diabetes and your feet.
Some of the long-term effects of diabetes include nerve damage which can result in loss of sensation in your feet. A decrease in circulation can make it harder to heal if you have a blister or scrape from ill-fitting shoes or pressure points on areas of arthritis. Learn how to take care of your feet to prevent chronic ulcers, deformity and avoid the dreaded amputation.
