Episode 134: More Than Just a Mammogram Dr. Marianne T. Ritchie
The screening age for colorectal cancer has been lowered to age 45 for everyone because of the rise in numbers of cases in younger people. When we combine men and women, more people die from colorectal cancer than from breast cancer. Screening for ALL cancers is important.
Your Real Champion® – Dr. Steve Greenfield retired in 2021 after a life of service as a physician. Seeing images of the invasion of the Ukraine fueled him to go to the border in Poland and volunteer in a refugee camp to provide medical care. This 72-year-old retired doctor risked his own health and safety to help innocent people during this humanitarian crisis.
Each week, we highlight the Real Champions in your life! Your family, friends, or colleagues who go the extra mile to help others in their community.
Marianne T. Ritchie, MD was one of the first female gastroenterologists practicing in the Philadelphia area. An advocate for over 30 years, Dr. Ritchie developed the PINK PLUS triple cancer screening program, and the BLUE LIGHTS CAMPAIGN for Colon Cancer Awareness.
