On Saturday, July 16, 2022, our host Dr. Marianne Ritchie was joined once again with the Narberth Ambulance staff to discuss emergencies that are more likely to happen during this hot, humid weather.

They discussed heat exhaustion and heat stroke, near drowning, severe sunburns, and injuries from fireworks.

Narberth Ambulance offers several courses for members of the community including basic life support and CPR, as well as “Stop the Bleed” – which informs students what to do if a patient has a gunshot or knife wound.

Your Real Champion® The Star Spangled Neighbors

For more than 100 years, the South Ocean City Improvement Association (SOCIA) has sponsored the Annual July 4th Bike Parade. As membership declined in recent years, the Board considered a dissolution of the organization.

Jack Johnson and his neighbor Karen Fuller came to the rescue. Their love of country and devotion to tradition fueled them to recruit an entire battalion of neighbors and this year’s celebration of the nation’s birthday was even more special this year.

With the help of Mike Dattilo and the City of Ocean City, they established the first Annual 42nd Street Block Party – an all-day event that brought hundreds of members of the community together – reminding us how fortunate we are to live in a country based on democracy.

Each week we highlight the Real Champions in your life! Your family, friends, or colleagues who go the extra mile to help others in their community.
