Major Cowen-Zanders is the Divisional Secretary for Greater Philadelphia overseeing operations across the city and beyond, whose tireless efforts build communities, change lives, and restore hope. The Salvation Army is an international movement and the evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Since its founding in Philadelphia in 1879, the Salvation Army has focused on meeting the needs of underserved communities throughout the region, aiming in each case to address the whole person – physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
